Our chicken shoot dates are now on the calendar.  They will be held July 13, 2013 and September 14, 2013.  Also here is the lowdown on summer league classing and high gun.  The entire league shoots as a group handicapped off of the lead team with ten bird splits until after five weeks of shooting.  After the fifth week the teams are handicapped and the splits will go down to 5 birds per yard off of the lead team in each class.  The high gun rankings will also come out when the teams are classed and will be updated weekly.  If you want to read an explanation of how we figure the high guns you can read this post from June of 2011.  I hope this helps.

I apologize for not getting the scores up earlier or getting them in the paper this week.  I had a hard drive failure on the data drive on my computer and it took longer than anticipated to recover everything.  Everything is now working and the scores and scoring sheets are done.  The new standings are on the standings page.  We had another good week of shooting with many high scores for teams and individuals alike.  Congratulations to last weeks high guns:  Jon Counsell 48, Erika Ehlers 46, Ryan Aumann 46, Rich Schroeder 46, Jim Goodbrand 46, and Rick Mews 46.

For anyone who hadn’t made it out this weekend the chicken shoot was a big success with shooting lasting all day.  After shooting we had our Rock the Range event with two bands that both did an excellent job.  It was a great success.  We also had a great fireworks show between performances, it may have been the best one we have had yet and everyone there seemed pleased.  We also raffled off our yearly cash prizes.  Congratulations to all the winners.

See everyone Thursday

The league scores are up after the holiday weekend.  Don’t forget about the chicken shoot this up coming weekend.  I will have a update about it with all the particulars in the next day or so.

We will be having a chicken and archery shoot this weekend (September 11, 2010) at the trap club and we will start around noonish. There will be backups, singles, Annie Oakley and other shoots happening. Also this fall we will be adding an archery shoot for the first time. Come on out and do some shooting, bring the bow and shotgun. The Badgers will be on TV, there will be food available, and there will be a DJ in the evening. Hope to see everyone there.

The new scores for league are up after not being updated for a few weeks. I had to go through and fix the errors caused by a software malfunction in my program. It seems that this only affected class AA. All of the AA teams score sheets up to where the errors took place are available at the trap club if anyone wants to double check my double checking to make sure their scores are accurate, just ask Karen when you register to shoot. Long story short, this error will not happen again. Thanks everyone for your patience.
On to better things. Congratulations to the high guns last week: Kessler Schuette 48, Pat Langfeldt 48, and Vinnie Putrus 47. It seems in recent weeks the scores have steadily been going up. I don’t know if it is the nice weather or what but it is nice to see.
For those that were not there our July chicken shoot went over quite well and we had a good crowd all day. Thanks to everyone that donated to the firework display and thanks to those who put on the show. It was very entertaining.
Just a quick reminder to everyone, this Sunday, July 25, is the Eau Claire Rod and Gun Club’s annual corn shoot. It is usually a very good time and we always seem to represent well in the team shooting portion of the event. Anyways if anyone wants to shoot it is open to the public. There will be 5 man team shooting, turkey shoots, and Annie Oakly shoots along with $1 beers and free corn on the cob.

Some of these characters may be there.

Our July Chicken Shoot is fast approaching and will be held Saturday, July 10 starting at high noon. Singles, backup, and Annie Oakly will be shot and anyone and everyone is welcome. I know some of these people in the picture will be there. Hope to see everyone there. Also the weekly scores are up.
